I am an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, actor, and director. A 2023 alumni of Mara Brock Akil’s “The Writer’s Colony”, and a 2023–2024 Alumni of Writers Room at the Geffen Playhouse. A Semi-Finalist for the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, a Finalist for the National New Play Network (NNPN), a 2024 Finalist for the Williamstown Theatre Festival, and a Finalist for the American Blues Theater’s Blue Ink Playwriting Award. my work has been presented or workshopped by notable institutions including the Geffen Playhouse, Classical Theatre of Harlem, NewYorkRep, Aurora Theatre, Congo Square, Rising Sage Theatre, and Orlando Shakes, among others.
My award-winning solo shows have toured internationally. My latest full-length drama, Welcome to the Blue Swan, is set in St. Louis and continues his exploration of identity, grief, and transformation. I am also the creator of the Black Faith play cycle, which includes Chasing Gods and Only Some of God’s Children or Mississippi Magnolias, works that interrogate the intersection of race, religion, and generational legacy in the Black community.
